In the past, explorers who came to investigate the remains of the Maya civilization, which flourished in Central America (Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala), learned from present-day indigenous people that ancient Mayans sacrificed thousands of beautiful, untouched young women into a mysterious lake for the future prosperity and well-being of their lineage.
It is said that these young women were taken to a sacred temple deep in the vast jungle, and after a ritual, they were thrown into a deep lake beneath the temple, drowning them. Further exploration led the archaeologist Edward Herbert and his team to discover this mysterious lake.
Later, divers were used to examine the lake’s bottom, and horrifying legends were confirmed when the researchers found the skeletons of countless young women. Among these countless female skeletons, one male skeleton was also discovered. It is believed that during the ritual, the shaman’s foot slipped while pushing the young women into the lake from above, causing him to fall into the lake as well.
